Well...Anime.
It was by the unfortunate turn of events that I even got involved with this...ritual.
Ritual, you may ask. But, yes, it is indeed a ritual.
The symptoms of anime is clear, and is not refutable.
I have watched it in the most vulnerable of situations. Otherwise, I had a fairly good immunity against it.
But I have limited my exposure to but a handful of animes. This proved to be the factor which acted as the
turning point which was effectuated by slowly recovering resistance that has been subdued years ago.
Well, to start things off, I would like to list what irks me about people who watch anime.
The Irk List
10. People who watch anime because everybody else does.
09. People who likes serious animes.
08. People who think anime is great because of its seriousness.
07. People who get offended when other people call anime 'cartoons'.
* Just as a side not, Anime means animation, which is what cartoons are. My theory is that the japanese
called it animation because they were not so skilled in English and just for the namesake of it.
06. People who get offended when other people call manga 'comics'.
* This is even more blatant than 07. Manga translated into English is comics.
05. People who are non-Japanese that turn Koreans into scapegoat when protecting Japan and Japanese.
Most likely, their loyalty to came from watching anime to begin with.
04. People who are non-Japanese that support Japan against negative things due to their loyalty to Japan through
the obsession of animes.
03. People who are strive to learn culture based on the front provided by the anime, thinking that anime truly portrays
the whole of the Japanese culture.
02. People who refute that other people get over Japan's wartime atrocities just by the fact that 'it has been a long time',
and that the inflicted people should 'get over it' just because he/she thinks that 'it has been a long time' and further
discontent against Japan is pointless otherwise. Screw you.
01. People who fall in love with Japan through watching anime.
Despite this, I may still watch anime from time to time.
But by no means I am dependent on anime.
I wash my hands with it.
